Parliamentary Member Support and Communications Advisor Parliamentary Service location Auckland.

As the MP Support and Communications Advisor to Ibrahim Omer, MP, you'll ensure everything runs effectively and efficiently. This challenging role will have you handling the constituent contact side of things in the office as well as managing and maintaining communications for your MP. Ibrahim has a real focus on the ethnic and migrant communities including refugees; having an understanding and some knowledge in this area would assist.

Your friends and whanau describe you as highly organised and a strong communicator. You're happy to work autonomously within your Community Office and are well known for your discreet and adaptable nature. This varied role requires someone who has the ability to meet tight deadlines and express complex issues in everyday language.

This is a highly varied and multifaceted role - some responsibilities include providing high quality advice and advocacy to constituents in your community. Managing and responding to correspondence and emails. Producing communications plans and initiatives to engage with constituents.

Creating excellent communication resources such as press releases and radio interviews. It goes without saying you're someone who's empathetic and respectful, and you're confident in building strong relationships with a diverse range of people. You're well known for your resilient and unflappable nature.

This is a fixed-term, events-based contract role until the end of the current 53rd Parliamentary term in 2023. This role is linked to the Member of Parliament, working 40 hours per week. Some flexibility in hours may be required.

The appointing salary band for this role is $58,932.00 to $73,665.00 per annum. Appointments will be based on your skills and experience.
