Local government (Council) - Inner West area. Temporary role with potential for permanent. Great role if you enjoy being active and outdoors amongst the local community | shopping & commercial precinct. Immediate start available.
On-the-job training available to compliment your strong customer service experience & interpersonal skills. Weekly rotating roster - Mon to Fri & Tue to Sat. $37.50 per hour + super + uniform + allowance for Saturday.

Your role reporting to the Team Leader, you will be part of a growing team of Parking Officers within the 'Community Safety | Life' team to ensure safe & responsible parking practices throughout the local government area.
Overall, you will be required to provide efficient & effective enforcement of car parking & other relevant regulations on a daily basis that maximises vehicular turnover and the availability of car spaces within the local shopping | commercial precinct.
Some of your specific activities will include conducting regular patrols of nominated areas to identify breaches and enforcing specific parking & related regulations. Issuing infringement notices for all parking offences and other offences relating to specific Acts, NSW Road Rules and Protection of Environment Operations Act.
Reporting any signposts & meters that require maintenance. Reporting other relevant breaches identified in patrols such as shopping trolleys, abandoned vehicles, pollution matters, footpath occupations, road obstructions etc. Keeping accurate & up-to-date field notes in relation to any action taken or relevant matter observed.
Required Skills & experience current Driver Licence. Previous experience in a customer service role dealing directly with the public. Previous experience working as a Parking Officer (or similar) an advantage.
Knowledge of parking provisions an advantage. Well-developed communication & interpersonal skills. Physically capable of carrying out the demands of patrolling (on foot) for the majority of the day. Willingness to undertake a Police Check.
