About the role the Parish Support and Development Team offers support and advice to parishes on administrative aspects of their mission. The Parish Advisor provides the first response to parish enquiries, answering questions if able or sourcing the answers and/or the appropriate people who are able to assist the parish.

The advisor understands how parishes operate and already possess/is capable of developing a good understanding of parish administration. The primary responsibilities of the Parish Advisor includes, but is not limited to the following duties building strong and supportive relationships with Parish Priests and parish support staff.

Responding to enquiries and assisting in providing accurate answers. Developing comprehensive knowledge of parish administration leading to a role as principal advisor in PACS. Proactively contacting parishes to offer assistance as required.

Preparing concise and clear Parish communications including newsletters, emails, letters and invitations to events and training. Working as part of a team and providing administration support directly to Parishes which may include filling in for absences when there is a short term gap, or need in a Parish.  Visiting a Parish to provide face-to-face support from time to time.

About you the ideal candidate should satisfy the following selection criteria a personal commitment to the ethos and values of the Catholic Church. Experience working or volunteering in a Catholic Parish is desirable.

Extensive experience in administration and/or customer service. Intermediate to advanced PC skills with strong knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint. Good working knowledge of ticketing system desirable. Current Working with Children Check clearance in NSW or ability to obtain. Working knowledge of MYOB, and PACS (CMS) desirable.
