About Us: For the Love of Dogs is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities through unique opportunities in the veterinary and animal care sector. Our goals are to provide people with disabilities opportunities for social connection through interactions with dogs, training and supported employment in the animal care industries.
Job overview we are seeking an Operations Manager with a passion for animal care and a commitment to enhancing the lives of people with disabilities. This role is instrumental in launching and establishing the operations of our organisation. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of strong relationship management skills, strategic planning abilities, attention to detail, adaptability, and a proven track record in securing funding and managing grants.
Key responsibilities operational Leadership Oversee the day-to-day operations of the organisation, ensuring seamless integration of our doggy daycare and educational programs.
Strategic Planning Work closely with the Board to develop and implement strategies that align with our mission and objectives. Relationship Management Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and community groups to enhance our program's reach and impact.
Research and Funding Conduct comprehensive background research to identify potential funding sources, including grants, donations, and sponsorships. Grant Writing and Fundraising Lead grant writing efforts and coordinate fundraising initiatives to ensure sustainable financial support for our programs.
Marketing and Brand Management Working with our marketing consultant to develop and generate content from our day to day operations consistent with our mission and brand. Outsourcing and Collaboration Facilitate outsourcing when necessary and collaborate with external agencies to augment our service offerings and operational efficiency.
Qualifications must be a genuine lover of the bond between humans and animals, with a compassionate approach to animal care and welfare. Bachelor's degree or demonstrated performance in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in operations management, preferably in a nonprofit or animal care setting. Demonstrated experience in grant writing, fundraising, and financial management.
Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills. Exceptional innovative thinking skills, with a proven ability to bring creative solutions and new ideas to operational challenges. Ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a dynamic environment.
