Job description we are currently seeking an Occupations Coordinator to join the Metro Tunnel Project. The Metro Tunnel Project is being delivered in three work packages, with a program level team (RPVP) assisting each package. The three work packages are Rail Systems Alliance, Rail Infrastructure Alliance and the Tunnels and Stations Public Private Partnership.

About the role responsible for providing effective co-ordination of all Occupations and associated works in relation to the RIA component of the Metro Tunnel Project (MTP), including a close working relationship with both the Access and Rail Safety Teams.

Responsibilities evaluate work activities and make recommendations in respect to the application of methodologies and possible efficiencies or required permits and resources. Work with all internal/external stakeholders to ensure that Occupations are planned, submitted and executed in accordance with the Project requirements. Convene and chair Planning, Lessons Learned, interface and risk assessments’ meetings associated with Occupations.

Ensure that Occupations are planned efficiently – i.e. maximising opportunities for works to share occupations and therefore minimising impacts to the Network Operator. Adherence to all legislative and regulatory requirements. Adherence to all of RIA’s Safety Management Systems. Assist in the management of the Works Readiness process and ensuring that T- minus Stage Gates are achieved for all Occupations.

Assist in managing and contributing to the preparation and publishing of key Occupation documentation such as Works Guides. Assist in the identification, booking and management of MTM critical resources (Overheads, Signalling, Substations, etc) as well as HV isolations (Signalling & Overheads). Ensuring the timely submission of Occupations within ARMS (MTM’s - Access and Resource Management System) as required.

Assist in the management of each Rail Transport Operator’s Works Readiness process required for every disruptive Occupation by ensuring deliverables are met at stage gates. This includes the completion of Works Readiness Checklists and subsequent submissionsPlan and/or attend Occupation coordination meetings across all Project Packages to identify potential synergies

Liaise with other Rail Transport Operators, where Works are proposed at or across jurisdictional boundaries. Exhibit a strong safety focus and a willingness to promote a safe working culture. Lead the control room activities (monitoring of program activities, chairing conference calls, reporting to stakeholders, assisting during incident management, tracking the progress of work groups) inclusive of weekend and public holiday periods. This includes working 1-2 weekends per month. Attend site to facilitate site inspections and walk through to evaluate scope of works to be carried out.

Train and offer guidance to the administration assistants and Graduate Engineers within the team. Preparation of long-plots, PowerPoint Presentations, Excel Sheets and Word Documents for meetings and reviews. Contribute and support the ongoing improvement and/or development of RIA processes, policies and procedures and related to Access, Occupations and Track Protection.

About you level 1 Train Track Awareness. Construction Induction Card. Engineering/Construction or Project Management qualification desirable.  2+ years demonstrated experience in Construction and/or Rail Industries. Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills especially in Excel and Word. Flexibility to work night shifts and weekends as and when required (up to 1-2 weekends per month).
