About the role

Are you ready to add your keen rehabilitation skills and experience to a vibrant multidisciplinary team?

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and enthusiastic grade 2 occupational therapist to join the friendly and supportive interdisciplinary team at Yarra Ranges Community Rehabilitation, Eastern Health.

You will be part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, providing allied health services to clients in their own home and also in the therapy centre.

This fixed term position will suit an Occupational Therapist who has a passion for rehabilitation and helping adults to achieve their goals, can work autonomously and also as a team member. Opportunities exist in various areas such as neurological rehabilitation (including stroke rehab), musculoskeletal rehabilitation, Falls and Balance clinic, and Chronic Health programs.

The successful applicant will be supported within a strong supervision structure and will be encouraged to engage in professional development, journal clubs and ongoing evidence based therapy.

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

Strong commitment to high quality client care
Well-developed interpersonal skills
High level communication skills, both written and verbal, to enable development of good rapport with clients and staff
High level of assessment and evidence based OT intervention skills
Experience in managing a mixed caseload using a client-centred approach
Experience working within a community setting (desirable)
Experience in the area of neurological rehabilitation (highly desirable)

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
