About the role an exciting opportunity exists as an Occupational Licensing Board Officer based in Wellington or Auckland to join our Market Integrity Branch within MBIE. The Board Officers work in a cross-sector role and have responsibility for supporting two independent Statutory Boards to fulfil their important functions.

The Board Officers are part of the Occupational Licensing Board Team who provide business services and administrative support to the Electrical Workers Registration Board and Building Practitioners Board in preparing for and running disciplinary Hearings.

Board Officers are responsible for the administrative functioning of the Boards, including scheduling meetings and disciplinary hearings, minute taking, travel/accommodation booking and general case management.

Skills and experience required high level of organisational skills. Attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Great communication skills and the ability to quickly establish and build strong working relationships. Strong case management skills would be advantageous. Experience with Hearings in a Board, Tribunal or Court environment would be advantageous.

Experience in Board support roles and responsibilities, and in working with independent Statutory Boards, would be advantageous. Knowledge of Electrical Workers Registration or the Licensed Building Practitioner's scheme or another occupational licensing scheme or judicial processes would be ideal but not a requirement. An ability to travel. Must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand.
