NIIO Coordinator Ministry of Justice location Auckland.
WFH Optional if located near Whangarei, Auckland, Wellington, Palmerston North, Hastings, Christchurch and Dunedin. About the role the Ministry of Justice provides administrative support to the Coroners of New Zealand.
We are a small team which provides a 24/7 service on behalf of Coronial Services. As part of this team you will be the first point of contact to answer inbound enquiries, accurately and calmly identify the needs of your caller and ensuring the appropriate response and action is taken using your knowledge and experience.
You will need all your customer service skills handling incoming and outgoing calls and information and at other times you may be processing a range of administrative tasks associated with the management of matters notified to the Coroner. You will be a key link between the Coroner and other relevant parties and the file management systems to ensure everyone has access to the information required to maintain a highly effective and efficient service.
You will need to be available to work across all shifts, 07:00 to 15:30; 15:30 to 00:00; and 23:00 to 07:30 as an example and be available to work public holidays, weekends and weekdays. We can offer working from the office based at Ellerslie, where we have staff parking available, with the possibility of some home base working and also the possibility of working from home at a location other than Auckland if close to one of the Coronial Service Units based around New Zealand.
Skills and experience to be successful in the role you will have ability to communicate and build rapport with people from all walks of life. Ability to question and listen to what people need, analyse information, act quickly, decisively and make accurate decisions.
Ability to handle stressful and emotionally difficult situations with a level head and a sensitive approach. Integrity. A passion and empathy for helping others in need. Ability to think on your feet. Bring an understanding of Te Ao Māori, Te Reo Māori me onā tikanga. Resilience and professionalism in the face of adversity.
Collecting and collating correspondence and accurately recording information from various internal and external sources and producing accurate documentation. A want to ensure critical and sensitive information relating to cases is stored, retrieved and communicated appropriately with a broad audience.
