National Accredited Visiting Services Coordinator Age Concern New Zealand location Wellington.

Age Concern is a charitable organisation dedicated to people over 65. We promote dignity, wellbeing, equity and provide expert information and support services in response to older people's needs. Age Concern is active and vocal on relevant issues and works to ensure older people stay connected with their families, friends and community. We are looking for a new staff member to join our National Office in Wellington.

Purpose of the role to support and develop the capacity of local Age Concerns to reduce social isolation and loneliness amongst older people. This role provides support to the National Manager Social Connections Services.

Qualifications and skills a professional health or social services qualification an advantage. Adult education skills / meeting facilitation skills. Experience with leading and motivating teams. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience with using client management systems. Experience with using social networking and communication platforms (e.g. Zoom, Skype), or willingness to learn.

Experience of working in the community and voluntary sector and knowledge of the community and service providers relevant to older people. Understanding of Treaty of Waitangi principles. Understanding and awareness of cultural practices relevant to Maori and other ethnicities represented within the New Zealand population. Knowledge of best practice in relation to volunteer management. Knowledge of relevant legislation e g. Privacy Act, Human Rights Act. Full New Zealand driver’s licence.
