Morning Receptionist The Knox School location Melbourne.
The Knox School is an independent, non-denominational, co-educational school catering for students from ELC to Year 12. The Knox School consists of three sub-schools, all on one attractive campus in Wantirna South, Victoria.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an engaging and adaptable Morning Receptionist to join our Administrative team in a job-share arrangement. This is a permanent, part-time position working weekdays from 8.00am to 1.00pm (25 hours per week, 0.66 FTE). Immediate start preferred, but commencement date will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
About the position work flexibly with the Afternoon Receptionist sharing responsibility for a range of reception, administrative and support duties. Display a supportive and respectful attitude to children and their families and build positive connections with all members of the school community. Expertly manage a busy phone system, receiving and directing incoming calls.
Manage student attendance for Middle and Senior Schools. Process Purchase orders and manage the purchase and stocks of stationery supplies and staffroom amenities. Coordinate daily mail and courier deliveries to the school. Additional administrative duties as required from time to time. The role reports to the Administrative Manager for day-to-day matters, and to the Director of Business Operations for all other matters.

The ideal candidate demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills . Have experience in a similar position. Be able to prioritise and multi-task under pressure. Have sound knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Microsoft Teams. (experience with School Administration System Synergetic and Learning Management System Schoolbox will be well-regarded).
Participate in a 30 minute daily handover with the Afternoon Receptionist . Have knowledge and understanding of the School’s obligations in respect of Ministerial Order No. 870, the Reportable Conduct Scheme, mandatory reporting, record keeping in relation to student safety and wellbeing, the failure to disclose and failure to protect offences (and any other information sharing and reporting obligations that may arise). Training will be provided.
Have working knowledge of and be able to adhere to the School’s policies and student safety practices, including those detailed in the Student Safety at The Knox School Handbook. Hold a current National Police Check and a Working with Children Check. Satisfactorily complete a values-based interview which will assess suitability to work with children and young people, and ensure that children and young people’s rights are respected.
Will be professional, collaborative, flexible and adaptable. Possess a friendly and professional phone manner. Exhibit superior organisational skills. Hold, or be prepared to obtain a current Level 2 First Aid Qualification, including CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Training. Training is provided by the school annually.
