We are Globex an established consultancy of specialist mechanical design and new product development based in the heart of Auckland, and we are growing. Sometimes we are taking on turnkey work for start-up clients, other times working behind the scenes for companies with amazing products that need our specialist expertise. Everything from rocket parts to recycling bins to medical rehabilitation devices.

Your day might include undertaking mechanical engineering design, from using first principles through to detailed design for manufacture. We are big on doing the numbers and failing fast. Brainstorming sessions with other team members. 3D modeling. Prototyping; in our in-house facilities. We like using CNCs, casting prototypes, all kinds of engineering gear, and we hope you do too. Working closely with clients to provide positive outcomes in fast changing environments.

Do you have most of the following a strong creative and problem-solving drive. A Mechanical Engineering degree or similar qualification.  Experience communicating with multi-discipline project. Takeholders and have good interpersonal skills. CAD experience and the capability to transfer your modelling skills to SolidWorks. Industry experience in plastics, particularly injection moulding, or tool design. Experience or desire to design products for manufacture. Strong analytical skills and the ability to use engineering theory. Good organisation and are a person who can self-manage and raise issues when required.

Currently Globex is looking for a senior engineer to help run projects, ideally a minimum of 5 years direct mass production product engineering industry experience. We need someone who is flexible in their approach with a wide variety of experiences to draw on. We are also open to part time, job share or reduced hours to work in with people’s requirements if they have the skills.
