We are seeking a seasoned major gift fundraiser to join our Vice-Chancellor's Office and raise philanthropic funds in support of AUT's strategy and priorities. You'll partner with key internal stakeholders, establish needs and match them with the aspirations of donors. You'll thrive cultivating relationships with donors whose goals align with AUT's strategy and in preparation for the solicitation of major gifts.

The impact AUT has is already a strong story and it is poised to deliver even stronger outcomes for Aotearoa. Being outgoing and in front of funders will be second nature for you. We are particularly interested in those with experience and connections in at least one of the following communities/industries Health, Equity or Education.

Key focus areas of the roles include develop and implement fundraising plans to support AUT's strategy. Cultivate and solicit major gifts from donors, trusts and foundations. Manage AUT's relationship with existing donors and support faculty-based philanthropic activity.

All systems are in place to help you succeed - our fundraising database and backroom function is well organised and current, with excellent administrative support for research, data management, recording and reporting. The software we use is Raiser's Edge. Your ability to listen, connect, collaborate, communicate and influence will be critical. You will have a strong respect for others coupled with an open and engaging attitude that is flexible to changing requirements. A resolute, robust and positive attitude is essential.

We are deadline-driven and work hard; but also embrace work-life balance. There are options to work on one of our three campuses (in the city centre, in South Auckland or on the North Shore) and to spend some time working from home. At least 5 years' experience soliciting significant gifts and funds from individual donors, or trusts and foundations. A proven track record of successfully building external partnerships, matching and attracting donors.

Strong networks in at least one of the following communities/industries: Health, Equity or Education. Applicants are welcome to add further comments they may feel of relevance. It is expected that the appointee will also hold a relevant tertiary qualification.
