About the role the Public Defence Service is looking for a super organised, practical and enthusiastic person to join our team in our North Shore office, based in Albany by the District Court. We are a friendly and collegial team delivering professional services in a busy environment. You will be joining an experienced and supportive team who have a genuine interest in sharing knowledge and supporting one another in an enjoyable, busy and sometimes challenging environment.

Your duties will include setting up client files, accurately processing disclosure, covering reception, answering phones, assisting our legal secretaries and supporting the office, copying, collating and filing legal documents. As a key team member at the PDS you will have access to a very successful three-month induction programme for PDS administration staff. You will also be able to attend monthly training sessions.

Skills and experience whilst you may have already gained some experience in a professional environment that is customer driven, and been involved in general office administration tasks, this is a chance for you to get in at the 'ground floor' and establish a great career path for yourself, in the interesting area of criminal law. You must be eligible to work in NZ.

Salary the remuneration band for this role is $48,343 to $68,249 - while the appointing salary will be based on skills and experience, we are willing to pay higher in the band to attract strong candidates into this role.
