About the Role
The Department of Education at Swinburne University of Technology is a dynamic and integral part of the School of Social Sciences, Media, Film, and Education. Our mission is to drive meaningful change in the lives of individuals and communities through excellence in research, teaching, and knowledge exchange. We are seeking an accomplished and innovative academic with expertise in numeracy/mathematics education to join our team. The successful candidate will contribute to our undergraduate and postgraduate initial teacher education programs, delivering high-quality teaching through a range of blended and hybrid methods, including lectures, tutorials, and seminars. You will play a pivotal role in enhancing numeracy and mathematics education across our curriculum and contribute to broader literacy alignment initiatives within the department.
In addition to teaching responsibilities, you will actively engage in accreditation activities with external agencies and organisations and contribute to the research profile of the department. This role also involves supervising postgraduate research students and leading a defined field of research within Education.

About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
Proven experience in tertiary teaching, including unit coordination, with a focus on numeracy/mathematics education.
Expertise in leading innovative teaching and curriculum development across on-campus, flexible, blended, and online delivery modes.
Demonstrated ability to mentor and build the capacity of students, fostering academic and professional growth.
An emerging track record of high-quality research outputs in Education.
Strong organisational and administrative skills, with a proactive approach to meeting deadlines and managing resources effectively.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic academic environment.
Qualifications
A Bachelor in Education and/or Postgraduate Teaching Degree
A Doctoral qualification relevant to Education
