Law Clerk positions Piper Alderman Lawyers location Sydney. As a Clerk you will be exposed to a supportive and collaborative learning environment which encourages you to balance and blend your university commitments with work experience while completing your degree. Working 2 days a week, and working closely with legal professionals you will get hands on with a variety of interesting, thought provoking tasks within a firm which is genuinely interested in and committed to the development of law clerks and junior staff. Piper alderman rising lawyers as a clerk, you will join our team of rising lawyers engaged in a variety of interest groups including legal development, wellness, business development and professional responsibility. The respective interest groups plan and deliver initiatives which support the development of lawyers in the early stages of their career and reinforce the firm’s overall strategic objectives. Reporting into industry leading Partners, the key responsibilities within this role will include researching technical information for current matters, gathering and analysing case facts while identifying legal issues and risks, drafting emails, correspondence and legal documentation, providing general legal assistance to fee earners in the group as required, attending and note taking at meetings with clients, collating papers for counsel briefings and court hearings and attending with counsel in court, developing efficient file procedures and time recording. To be successful in this Law Clerk position, you will have relevant tertiary study in law and have completed or are in the, process of completing a minimum of 60% of your law degree, excellent research skills and exceptional attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to draft basic correspondence exceptional organisation skills, time management and attention to detail, an ability to use initiative and liaise confidently with partners and fee earners, an ability to digest instructions quickly and produce results.
