Company for over 20 years Austpath has been providing a specialist anatomical pathology service in New South Wales. We are a leader in Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology and also provide a Histopathology service to specialists.

A modern purpose-built laboratory is at 197 Briens Road, Northmead. The laboratory is within walking distance of Westmead Private and Public Hospitals (approximately 5 minutes) and from the Westmead Railway Station (approximately 15 minutes). There is ample on-site free parking and the working environment is excellent.

Job details a vacancy for a full-time laboratory technician position is available in our laboratory. This position provides an excellent opportunity to grow your career. The successful applicant will be rostered to work Monday to Friday between 6:00 AM - 7:00 PM. You can also be rostered on Saturdays after your training.

Duties assisting pathologist while performing fine needle aspiration (FNA) biopsies. Specimen reception duties. Laboratory duties. Customer liaison. Liaison with medical staff from hospitals and doctors’ rooms. Data entry of patients and doctor’s details. Additional duties as required.

Skills required an appropriate qualification in a scientific field relevant to pathology or equivalent health related experience is desirable but not essential. Good computer and data entry skills (Knowledge of Microsoft access is desirable). Great phone manner. Excellent typing skills. Ability to multi task.
