The opportunity located in Hastings, an opportunity exists for a laboratory technician to join their Gippsland operations on an initial 6 month contract (with potential renewal). Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, this offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to develop your sampling and analysis skills and contribute to the teams’ deliverables. The Position a motivated self-starter, your drive to deliver consistently high-quality analytical services will reward you with a role where you will be provided with comprehensive on-the-job training to ensure your ability to perform the following responsibilities safely and competently sampling crude oil, lpg, natural gas, water and chemicals in the process area of an oil and gas processing plant, testing and analysis with a focus on safety, accuracy and efficiency, enhancing equipment reliability by adopting sound operating practices, performing condition monitoring, basic core routines and minor maintenance, actively participating to a positive, productive and best-practice work culture, meeting stringent oh&s requirements by demonstrating a focused and continued commitment to ohs/environmental policy application and compliance, contributing to laboratory process improvement initiatives and efficiencies, including the continuous improvement of quality assurance processes. Participation in an on-call roster is expected upon completion of the appropriate training. So if you have a positive can-do attitude with the ability to operate with integrity and confidence, strong interpersonal skills with an ability and desire to work well with others in your team and other work groups, the ability to plan and organise yourself to work efficiently and safely in a largely autonomous manner, an interest in work that provides a high level of variety, a science or chemistry degree or diploma, strong computer skills (especially excel) and a current drivers licence as driving is required for some sample collection.
