Additional Information:
• This role is Permanent Part-time 40hrs/fortnight.
• The internal job title for this role is IKEA Food Co-worker.
• The shift times required to work will be spread between 7:30am to 9:30pm weekdays and weekends.
To be considered for this Full day availability on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday
• You also have the availability to work 3 out of 4 weekends in a month (both Saturday and Sunday).

RECRUITMENT PROCESS
• If your application is successful, you may be invited to complete a video screening interview as part of the recruitment process.
• If your application is progressed, you will be invited to attend an in-person interview with the hiring team.
• If you are successful for this role, your contract with IKEA will commence from Monday 12 May 2025.

About this work area

As an IKEA Food Co-worker, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Ensuring your area is well-maintained, clean, organised, attractive and welcoming, in line with food safety standards, to deliver a positive customer experience.
• Preparing, cooking, serving and delivering excellent customer service with a strong focus on food safety, minimising waste, and following set production levels and cooking methods.
• Operating dishwashing equipment, maintaining the cleanliness of the dishwashing area, and supporting the overall cleanliness of the customer restaurant.
• Using your IKEA Food knowledge to confidently assist customers, answer questions, and help them make informed purchase decisions.
• Receiving food deliveries from various suppliers using the RF scanner system and accurately processing all incoming stock.
• Handling deliveries of frozen and chilled products with speed and accuracy, ensuring any missing or damaged items are promptly reported.
• Taking responsibility for food safety by adhering to all relevant regulations, checking delivery temperatures, rotating stock according to expiry dates, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness in all food areas.

 

As an IKEA Food Co-worker, you are or have:
• Passionate, committed, and have a love for food in its quality and presentation.
• High customer-centric approach as you will focus on ensuring our customers have a positive dining experience.
• Experienced with working in a fast paced, hands-on environment. Previous hospitality and cookery experience is essential.
• Previous hospitality and commercial cookery experience is highly regarded.
• An energetic and team-focused approach as this department can become extremely busy.
• Able to follow strict IKEA Food and HACCP policies and daily operational routines around quality and food safety, including temperature and date checks.
