Description
Kitchen Hand Ronald McDonald House Charities New Zealand location Auckland.
RMHC New Zealand supports families with a child in hospital away from home. The Ronald McDonald House® and Ronald McDonald Family Room® programmes take care of the practical things in life so families can focus on their child staying in a hospital away from home.
In 2019, RMHC New Zealand provided more than 4,600 families across New Zealand with accommodation and support free of charge. This helps to relieve stresses like paying for a place to sleep near the hospital, organising family meals and needing a friendly ear to listen on tough days. Simply, we give families with a hospitalised child what they need most — each other.
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Kitchen Hand to join our friendly and supportive Food Services team. This is a newly created role where you can make a positive impact on the lives of our families.
We are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic, and customer experience focused person to provide assistance in the kitchen to prepare, serve and/or deliver meals to families who are staying at the House®. in accordance with the current food safety legislation and guidelines. You will be responsible for ensuring the food preparation areas and dining room are clean and hygienic at all times.
To be successful in the role, you will need to have the following previous experience as a Kitchen Hand working in a café or restaurant. NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa. A high standard of presentation. Excellent relationship management skills.
Excellent grasp of the English language. Empathy for sick children and their families. Be a team player - enjoy supporting and working with others. Be part of a team who are passionate, driven and work collaboratively to enable RMHC New Zealand to support families across New Zealand with a child in hospital away from home.
