Kennel Attendant Armourguard location Northland.

We are after a very special person who understands and respects dogs (big and small) to care for our Shelter Dogs. Some have been found roaming the streets, some have been naughty and some have been found by members of the public and dropped off to us. Sometimes we even get the odd goat and pig turn up on our doorstep.

All of our dogs/animals need a caring genuine person to feed them, clean their kennels, exercise them and take ownership of their day to day care. This job is not for everyone and certainly not for the faint hearted, however if you are a dog lover you will be in your element. We look forward to hearing from suitable applicants who have a can do attitude, a sense of humour can work with a small team and have great dog management skills. Applicants will need the following skills, experience and abilities ability to work in a busy environment, while remaining focussed calm and on task. Knowledge of the Code of Welfare for a Kennel environment would be an advantage. Experience with dogs and confidence working in this environment. Display a high level of professionalism and personal presentation.

Display sound judgement and ability to make informed decisions. Be able to work alone or in a team environment. Full New Zealand driver's licence and reliable transportation preferred. Display Honesty, Integrity and Reliability. Good overall fitness level. Be willing to comply with company SOP’s and Health & Safety Regulations. A current Certificate of Approval or the ability to obtain one. Successful applicants will have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.

Applicants Added value first Aid certificate. Certificate in Animal Welfare or similar.
