Junior Technical Support Engineer Wine-Searcher.com location Auckland. $65,000 – $75,000 per year.

Altogether we employ about 30 IT staff, engaged in web development and design, back-office systems, mobile apps, artificial intelligence, spider writing, testing and everything that keeps our systems running.

Role To work as part of the IT Infrastructure Team under the direct guidance of the IT & Operations Director to maintain and support the Wine-Searcher’s network and computer systems, including specific projects and day-to-day operations. We are looking for an IT graduate who loves IT, is a fast learner and good communicator. Wine-Searcher has a wide-ranging tech-stack providing a great learning opportunity for the successful candidate.

Responsibilities administration and support of company IT environments. Day-to-day running of various tasks and services, such as PC builds, IT support, email, servers, backups, anti-virus, security, VPN, Linux server management, AWS environment administration. First line of support for internal staff (via Teams, email, or in-person). Communication with third party vendors for IT purchasing and support.

Main activities, Desktop support, Server support, Network support, Projects. Core areas of responsibility. IT support (hardware and software). PCs (Windows 10, Apple Mac). Servers (Windows, Linux). Printers. Microsoft environment. Office 365 (Teams / Outlook / Office Suite).

Active Directory. Systems support and administration. Rapid7 vulnerability management. Ninja RMM (Remote Management and Monitoring). Powershell scripting. AWS. Amazon Workspaces management. Cloudwatch server monitoring. DevOps support.

IAM security management. Server / service provisioning. General networking configuration and support, WiFi, Router, Switch, Patch panel, VPN, Network monitoring. Good communication skills – need to be able to communicate with staff and third party suppliers and vendors.

Purchasing IT equipment. Liaising with vendors to get the most appropriate specifications and the best price / delivery. Technical writing skills. IT documentation. Update and create new process/architecture documents as required. Interest or experience in IT development. Relevant tertiary and/or industry certifications/qualifications. Ability to apply practical problem-solving skills. Able to work independently. Able to prioritise workloads. Positive attitude, team player and goal driven.
