Our client is a Melbourne based professional services company with an exciting growing fin-tech arm. They are looking for an energetic and passionate Junior Application Developer to join their growing development team and be a part of some exciting new projects. This is a permanent role is based in Melbourne’s CBD and any experience in professional services or data science will be looked upon favorably. About the role application design & development working predominately in python, you will be responsible for continuously delivering production-grade, and well versioned, code that is core to the companies cloud-native applications, work to understand and translate both internal and client requirements into functional specifications. Data management working in sql, you will be responsible for delivering and maintaining sql and nosql databases, which are consumed by the applications, work to ensure data integrity and accuracy, operations, ensure data integrity via etl tools, work with the technology team and users on testing, including user acceptance testing, contribute to application deployment and training of users, contribute to technical and user documentation, provide application and technical support to users. About you 1-3 years’ experience working in a development role, experience developing and testing production-grade commercial web applications. Experience/familiarity with some or all of the following an advantage data visualisation and data science techniques, git and version control, html, css, js, python (pandas, plotly, numpy, scipy, etc.) and web frameworks such as flask, django or dash, sql and database administration (incl. etl processes), familiarity with nosql, devops concepts such as ci/cd, architecture design patterns, monitoring and logging, public and multi-cloud computing, devops tools like docker, kubernetes, vault, and airflow an advantage, exemplary interpersonal skills and an ability to work in, and contribute to, a team environment as well as independently, excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to communicate at all levels, an ability to work within a commercially sensitive environment, maintain confidentiality and comply with internal policies, professional services environment will be looked on favorably.
