This role focuses primarily on IT procurement, including category planning, vendor engagement ,and managing complex tenders and contract lifecycles.
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Category Manager with a strong background in ICT procurement. You'll lead the development and execution of category strategies, manage sourcing activities, and ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory frameworks.
You'll work closely with internal stakeholders across technology, legal, and risk, and be a trusted advisor in aligning procurement decisions with business strategy, regulatory expectations, and cyber risk standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end management of ICT procurement activities, including RFPs, tenders, contract reviews, approvals, and sign-offs
Drive category planning and vendor engagement, with a focus on IT suppliers and services
Oversee post-award contract management and performance tracking
Provide risk assurance for procurement, especially for material outsourcing arrangements
Ensure alignment with regulatory standards
Collaborate with internal Technology team on vendor-related initiatives
Attend regular risk and assurance meetings to ensure proactive risk mitigation
Support strategic sourcing decisions through strong commercial acumen and value-for-money assessments
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
Proven ICT Procurement experience in a complex, regulated environment
Strong understanding of ICT tendering processes and how they align with risk assurance requirements
Experience liaising with internal tech teams, legal, and IT vendors
Familiarity with first-line risk assurance practices in procurement
Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and communication skills
Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Law, Supply Chain Management, or related field
Background in regulatory oversight or financial services procurement, well regarded
Working knowledge of cyber security risk considerations in supply chain activities
Membership with CIPS or similar procurement body
