contract IP Engineer Taska360 location Wellington.
We seek an IP Engineer / Network Engineer for an immediate start. Things we seek from an IP Engineer / Network Engineer includes. Detailed Design, Testing, and Migration, troubleshooting experience in Telco environment. Act as the liaison for SI/Vendor for all aspects of Telco IP/MPLS control & data plane design & operations.
Have solid understanding of Telco grade routing protocols (xBGP, ISIS, OSPF), L2 (802.1q, 802.1ad), MPLS (L2, L3 VPN, EVPN, VPLS, VPRN, VPWS, Circuit emulation), Network Security, QoS and some experience of Time & Synch.
Segment routing a bonus. Have understanding of TDM/IP service interaction. Have an understanding of OTN. Have understanding of Management plane design (including terminal server) and operations. Have an understanding of OT especially Teleprotection, & Real time Services (SCADA, EMS).
Understand the need to design security into the Network solution from the start, not as an after thought. Brings Engineering curiosity and rigour to the table. Experience of merging Telco grade networks during tech refresh (HW, SW, features & functions).
Key areas of responsibility network Design and Implementation. Network Monitoring and Maintenance. Security and Compliance. Network Optimization. Documentation and Reporting. Collaboration and Support.
The person we’re after minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a network operations role. Strong knowledge of network protocols, technologies, and concepts. Proficiency in network configuration and troubleshooting. Familiarity with network security and compliance standards. Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Nokia Certified Network Routing Specialist II are a plus.
