Interior Design Assistant Blackmilk Interior Design location Melbourne.

Blackmilk Interior Design is a small practice specialising in the design and delivery of hospitality, retail and residential projects.  Our upcoming projects are diverse and exciting. We are looking for someone with a 'can do attitude' that is comfortable in a fun and busy office environment. If you have a tertiary qualification, a good understanding of BCA codes and a minimum of 2-3 years local experience we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities concept Exploration/Design Assist. Exploring concept ideas/research. Development of new and fresh concept ideas (mood boards/ adding to concept bank on down time). Research on new products/technologies. Presentation boards/sets – InDesign/Photoshop. Collation of finishes board/stick down & digital. Library tidy up/organization. Project Schedules.

Research of Conceptual images, products and finishes for each project. Helping the documentation team (PDF Auto-CAD files, CAD Documentation revisions if required). General administration. Invoicing / keeping Tax Invoice Register up to date. Fee proposal. Email correspondence. Job management/keeping track of job progress/updating job register.

Completion and submission of checklists to obtain building permits and various council permits. Liaising with clients, builders, building surveyors and subcontractors via email and phone. Coordination of meeting times with Director and clients. Supplier liaison and coordination. Answering of phones/phone messages. General file organization. Always ensure client satisfaction and provide exception customer care.

The ideal candidate AutoCAD experience, documentation skill set and knowledge will be highly regarded but not essential. AutoCAD experience will be further developed in this role.  Experience in liaising with local councils to obtain planning permits.

Experience in liaising with building surveyors, and adhere to building surveyor checklists to obtain building permits. Experience with Scheduling of FF&E. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite – Photoshop, InDesign & Illustrator. Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook. Capable of working alone and in a team. Creative Writing Skills. Project management experience. Strong Communication skills and have extensive organisational and problem-solving skills. An eye for detail and accuracy under pressure.
