Intelligence Collection Coordinator Cent New Zealand Police location Auckland. Salary Range $88,404.00 - $119,607.00.
New Zealand Police has three permanent positions available for Intelligence Supervisors based at our newly completed Tāmaki Makaurau Deployment Centre, Otahuhu. These positions will support the three Tāmaki Makaurau Districts, Waitematā, Auckland City and Counties Manukau. New Zealand Police is the lead agency responsible for reducing crime and enhancing community safety. We work in partnership with individuals, communities, businesses and other public sector agencies to achieve our purpose of Be Safe, Feel Safe.
Intelligence in New Zealand Police has been on a transformation journey, which continues as we transition into the Tāmaki Makaurau Deployment Centre, a new fit-for-purpose facility designed to bring Police Critical Command Information components together under one roof. Intelligence is used to inform and drive the deployment of operational resources, enable an understanding of the criminal environment and facilitate evidence-based action.
The team is responsible for a broad range of intelligence functions including intelligence analysis, supporting planned and unplanned operations, collection planning and supporting the NZ Police Deployment Model 2017 through providing decision maker advantage. By bringing the three District Intelligence Units together we have created an exciting opportunity to develop and embed the way we deliver intelligence to prevent crime and victimisation.
These positions will be part of the Tāmaki Makaurau Intelligence leadership team and be responsible for leading teams in the Analytics and Operational Intelligence Services. You will be responsible for the performance of your team, ensuring the development, embedding and continuous improvement of intelligence products and service delivery through innovation and education. You will build the capability of our people ensuring they are enabled to deliver on Our Business.
Skills demonstrated leadership and management skills and the ability to lead and inspire others. Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with individuals at all levels. An energetic, positive and pro-active approach to your work, with a willingness to "learn the way forward". Manage competing demands and high workload at times.
Experience to understand a problem, develop solutions, and effectively influence and inform decision-making. Experience presenting complex issues clearly to a range of audiences (written and verbal).
Special requirements applicants must be an NZ or Australian citizen, or a permanent NZ resident to apply for this position. Able to obtain and maintain an appropriate national security clearance. Position is subject to rotation. Successful applicant must reside in Tamaki Makaurau.
