The Opportunity

At HSF Kramer, we are on the path to modernise and rationalise our IT infrastructure, automate workloads, and pursue next-generation innovation.

To continue this transformation, we’re seeking an experienced Infrastructure Architect who has expertise in the strategy, design, development, testing and implementation of cloud computing applications. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the ideal candidate will have a firm grasp of emerging technologies, platforms, and applications, and an ability to use these resources to help our business become more secure and efficient.

Primary Responsibilities:

Lead the design and implementation of cloud-based infrastructure solutions that support the firm’s digital transformation strategy.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, assess current systems, and recommend scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions.

Develop and execute strategies for migrating on-premises applications to the cloud with minimal disruption to business operations.

Oversee the operation and optimisation of the cloud environment, ensuring availability, performance, cost-efficiency, and security.

Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, providing strategic recommendations to drive innovation.

Create and maintain reference architectures, patterns, and standards to guide cloud adoption and infrastructure development.

Provide thought leadership and mentorship to internal teams, building cloud competencies across the organisation.

Promote best practices and knowledge sharing for cloud infrastructure to empower teams and ensure consistent adoption.

Define and track key metrics to measure cloud adoption, performance, security posture, and business value.

Support broader architectural needs across application and data domains as required.

To be successful in this role you will:

Unrestricted working rights in Australia.

Education in computer science, information technology, or a related field.

At least 7 years’ experience in infrastructure roles and 3+ years in architecture within complex environments.

Proven expertise in cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure, with strong working knowledge of AWS or Google Cloud, and experience across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS models.

Deep understanding of cloud architecture frameworks (e.g. Microsoft Well-Architected Framework), cloud security best practices, and technologies including virtualisation, networking, and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a collaborative approach and comfort working in Agile environments.

Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert are highly regarded.
