Your Future position due to sustained growth across our organisation we are seeking to expand our IT team and looking for an experienced and keen IT Support person that has a passion and proven experience for solving help desk problems.

Do you have strong customer service skills and have an interest in IT. If yes, then come and join our team as a Technology Support Officer, where you'll play a crucial role in providing exceptional technical assistance to our staff. As a major link between our IT department and our valued staff members, you'll ensure their satisfaction through effective communication and timely resolution of Tier 1 and 2 endpoint support services.

About the role in this role you will provide friendly and effective professional Tier 1 and some Tier 2 level IT support and remote support to troubleshoot hardware and software issues on assigned devices. This will entail managing all request types (incident, problem, requests) end-to-end; providing technical troubleshooting and resolution of complex problems using investigative techniques; educating staff; and providing timely escalation where required/appropriate.

Track requests using service management software. You'll keep everyone in the loop with accurate updates. Ensure quality customer outcomes/relationships through the use of effective customer service principles.

Ensure all incidents/requests are categorised/recorded efficiently and correctly and identify opportunities for process improvement based on re-occurring issues, trends and observations from incidents requests captured.

Assist in the maintenance of a detailed asset register of all IT hardware, application software and peripheral equipment in order to maintain The P.A. People's IT asset records and contribute to the annual equipment stocktake.

Essential to achieving consistent results are your planning, organising, meeting timelines and problem solving skills, together with your strong desire to work with both staff and the Technology Architect & Trainers to ensure the successful results to IT support requests across the company.

You will have tertiary qualifications or an Associate Diploma in IT, or equivalent demonstrated experience in relevant disciplines. At least 2 years’ experience in a similar or related IT Service Desk role, with excellent knowledge of IT theory, practice and industry standards particularly relating to an IT Service Desk function.

Experience in dealing with people in a service capacity within an IT environment. Knowledge and experience providing support, in a networked environment. Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills particularly in documenting processes and work instructions, and interpreting client requirements.

Critical thinking skills, which are solutions focused. High attention to detail and accuracy in all work performed.  Self-motivated and able to work effectively either alone or in a team environment. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, pay attention to detail and maintain professionalism.
