The Local Government Association of South Australia (LGA) is recognised as the peak representative body for local government in this State and prides itself on being the voice of local government in South Australia. It provides services, support and leadership to SA councils for the benefit of the community. The LGA also provides representation outwards to State and Federal governments and other key stakeholders.
The primary objective of the LGA Audit and Risk Committee is to protect and create value for the Board and its stakeholders. It provides advice and recommendations to the Board, contributing to a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness of financial management, risk management, internal controls, and governance processes. The Committee’s composition is up to four members, one being an LGA Board Member and up to three Independent Members (one of which is the Chair).
The Committee is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified individuals with skills in one or more of the following areas business - innovation and commercial strategy, Insurance, Legal, The Independent Member will be remunerated at $12,000 per annum.
