We have opportunities to join as an Immigration Officer in either of our Border and Visa Operations Teams located in Manukau (both the INZ Manukau office, and the National Documentation Office) and Henderson.

As an Immigration Officer within the Border and Visa Operations Team you will be responsible for processing visa applications and/or assessing medical certificates; and you'll be taking the information available to you and using this to make sound immigration decisions. You will be interpreting immigration legislation, and utilising your proven analysis, judgement and decision making abilities to make quality immigration decisions. You will use your strong writing and information assessment skills to manage a fast paced processing and case based workload.

The role of Immigration Officer will report within the Border and Visa Operations division, and Visa Services is the main processing and operational arm of INZ.  The Manukau office is one of INZ's largest visa processing sites, and both Manukau and the National Documentation Office are based close to the train station and bus depot.  Our Henderson office has free roadside parking opportunities.

Skills and experience required superior verbal and written communication skills, with proven expertise conveying concepts, policy, and information clearly and concisely to a range of stakeholders. Can thrive working with multiple demands and able to adapt to change at short notice. Confidence to make decisions in a complex environment. Manages time and responsibilities appropriately in order to effectively own high volume workflow and case loads.

General computing literacy and aptitude. Mental agility to be able to learn new things quickly and successfully. A strong moral compass, and be known to ‘act with integrity' in all you undertake. A relevant tertiary qualification is advantageous but not essential. Proven to be a reliable, mature, professional and positive team member. We offer extensive on-going on the job training to candidates who are successful in the role. Starting salary of $56,104.
