Hostel backpackers Receptionist Fitzroy location Melbourne, CBD and Inner Suburbs. An exciting ongoing Receptionist/Events coordinator position have become available in our fun, friendly, busy Fitzroy backpackers. We are looking for an outgoing, smiley, customer service superstar to join our team. You will also be in charge of running our pub crawls on Thursday nights and helping out with our other events (listed below) as needed. Our staff are some of the most highly rated reception staff in Melbourne. We have part time hours and are looking for someone that loves being here as much as we do. We offer guests a "home away from home" with free BBQs, pub crawls and homemade soup nights. It is a place where the guests know your name and we want to offer the most awesome experience, in a fabulous building. Positions Available part time hours (15-20 hours) immediate start, must be available over christmas and new years and happy to work late nights. Duties Include making bookings via phone and email, booking tours, greeting guests, helping them with what to do in melbourne, checking guests in and out, cash handling, running bbqs, pub crawls and homemade soup nights, being in sole charge of the hostel in the evenings, being a friendly face/ mediator/ authoritarian, updating our facebook, instagram and posters, involves cleaning and sorting duties. You must be mature and responsible, have sensational customer service skills, be a smiley, positive person who thrives in a busy work environment, be a team player who works well by yourself, hardworking and willing to get your hands a little dirty, have amazing problem solving skills, be willing and able to tell guests off when they get a little rowdy. Be a team player Know your way around Fitzroy and Melbourne. Hours We are open 7days 365 days a year. Shifts will be a mix of all of these 7.30am-3pm, 3pm-8.30pm, 8.30pm-2.30am. Including nights and weekends a must! We work on a set roster meaning the same shifts every week. You will be required to work part of Christmas day and New Year's day/eve. We are a small team in which everyone pays their part to keep everything running smoothly. You will have to get your hands dirty, make tough decisions and think on your feet. All with loads of laughter and job satisfaction. Hospitality experience or admin experience will be highly regarded. Previous experience in a similar position in the backpacking or hotel industry will be an advantage, but not essential. Personality and a strong work ethic is very important to us. We are looking for someone that is an Australia citizen or permanent resident. The position is ongoing and you must want to work here for the next year or more.
