About Us Western Private Hospital (WPH), is a boutique private hospital servicing the West of Melbourne with the provision of acute services, which has 68 inpatient beds. WPH’s facilities include four Operating Theatres, CSSD, Day Stay Unit, Day Oncology Unit, Eleanor Overnight Ward for CCU, HDU & Surgical patients, Cardiac Catheter Laboratory, Specialist Consulting Suites, Nuclear Medicine Department and supported by pathology, pharmacy, radiology and radiation therapy services. This variety creates an excellent opportunity for our team to be dynamic, flexible and customer focused in addressing the unique needs of our patients.

About the roles we have a few exciting opportunities for enthusiastic customer service focused individuals to join the Hospital Administration Services team as Administration Officers on a casual basis at WPH.

Applicants need to demonstrate strong customer service skills, offer flexibility with their time and be available to work across various administrative functions - inc. reception, switchboard, admissions, pre-admissions, discharges, bookings, health fund eligibility checks, ward clerking, Consulting Suites and PET Centre reception.

The successful candidates need to have a degree of flexibility and varying availabilities to work various shifts Monday to Friday between the hours of 6am to 6pm as shift times vary depending on role and area, eg. shift times can be 10am-6pm, 9am-5pm, 8am-4pm, 7am-3pm, as well as shorter shifts of 4 hours.

About you to succeed in this role, you will have the ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively in a team environment; be self-directed and motivated; are meticulous to detail and able to multitask; have great time management and organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks; be responsive and meet deadlines in a busy, changing and demanding environment.

Selection criteria previous administration experience in the healthcare sector. Medical software experience, such as WebPAS or other similar patient information systems. Advanced computer skills with MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook). Knowledge of medical administration, terminology and private health funds is desirable. Superior time management and organisational skills to assist in ensuring deadlines are met and a high level of support to specialist practitioners and care for their patients.

Ability to prioritise tasks, coordinate daily activities and manage multiple duties. Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship management skills. Exceptional attention to detail when handling patient data with high levels of accuracy. Proven ability to succeed in a fast paced, stimulating and dynamic team environment. Personable, professional and patient friendly with an empathetic and attentive personality.
