About the Role

As a key member of our Health, Safety & Wellbeing (HSW) team, you will provide timely delivery of specialist advice and support to managers and staff across the University. Your role will focus on best practice HSW strategies and solutions, ensuring legal compliance and a safe, satisfying workplace for all employees.

You will assist in implementing emergency management procedures to achieve compliance, monitor legislation and standards, recommend strategies, and participate in development of HSW systems. Additionally, you will provide advice on HSW issues and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance HSW practices across the University.

About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
• Experience with developing, implementing and overseeing emergency organisations including EPCs & ECOs.
• An in depth knowledge and practical understanding of HSW legislation, compliance codes and strategies for their successful deployment across the University
• Proven capacity to consult effectively on workplace risk assessments and development of practical resolution strategies
• Proven organisational skills with the ability to balance competing demands, prioritise effectively and work to deadlines
• Proven ability to provide concise and practical advice to line managers on HSW issues
• Ability to develop HSW procedures

Qualifications
• A degree in occupational health and safety or related discipline along with subsequent relevant experience
• Certificate IV in Assessment and Training (preferable)
