About the Opportunity

With safety prioritised above all else at Boral, we look out for each other and are committed to zero harm across our vast, vertically-integrated national business. An opportunity exists for a proactive and energetic Health & Safety Business Partner to join our national Health and Safety team, supporting our Southern Region NSW Concrete and Quarries business.

Reporting to a Business Unit General Manager and Head of Business Partnering Health and Safety, your primary focus is to support our Southern Region Concrete and Quarries Business ensuring that business unit level issues are understood, controls are implemented and compliance and assurance measures reviewed. Working closely with the frontline, this is a key role in delivering strong alignment between operational risks and health and safety controls and will enable safety improvements and standardisation of processes across our network of Southern Region NSW Quarries and Concrete Plants.

Operating as a true business partner, you will relish the opportunity to travel to a range of Quarries and Concrete Plants on a regular basis to engage with leaders and employees on site and really understand their challenges, creating learning opportunities from issues and incidents to enable them to perform more effectively. A central part of this role is to build an intimate understanding of our operations and forge strong and lasting relationships with stakeholders so as to deliver positive safety outcomes.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity and candidates must have the flexibility to travel to various sites in Southern NSW including the South Coast, Canberra, and Southern Highlands. To support in this, you will be provided with a motor vehicle allowance. This is not a FIFO role and you will be able to enjoy weekends with your family.

Duties and responsibilities for the role include:

Constructively working with and supporting operational leaders on risk management
Building operational teams health and safety capacity by providing specialist health and safety advice, support and coaching
Supporting the roll out and implementation of the Boral Health & Safety Strategy and Business Unit Plan

Facilitating the implementation of the HSEQ Management System & National Programs
Ensure Assurance Audits are completed in line with the Audit and Assurance Program and monitor closeout of WHS actions
What are we looking for?

A positive and proactive approach with a willingness and commitment to partnering with and supporting operational teams
Proven experience in a similar role, ideally with strong skills in incident investigations and facilitating learnings from incidents
