Hillcrest Christian College is a private, interdenominational, co-educational, day school with approximately 1,500 students (Pre-Kindy to Year 12) located at Reedy Creek on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. Hillcrest caters for domestic and international students enrolling from Prep to Year 12 on one campus.

Located on 10 hectares of private, natural bushland, The College is situated in the elevated Hinterland just beyond Burleigh Heads, with views to Surfers Paradise and the Gold Coast. We are blessed with an incredible contemporary campus that provides an open and beautiful environment for every member of our community to enjoy and belong.

Hillcrest was selected by Cambridge University as one of the top 100 innovative schools in the world, and was awarded an Education Innovation award in 2017. We aim to foster creativity, enhance the inter-connected engagement within learning groups, allow digital access as part of the daily learning, and to be an educational leader, not just in Australia, but in the world.

Hillcrest's founding mission was to provide a holistic Christian education to students of the Gold Coast. Hillcrest continues to operate and teach with this mission, and its values, principles and teachings are all based on the Bible. God revealed his love and plan for humankind, through Jesus Christ, and our hope is to give our students a foundational Christian worldview, that provides them with a balanced perspective of the world, and a confidence to face their future.

From the beginning of 2021, Hillcrest Christian College will realise a realigned organisational structure of the College and introduce a new Middle Learning Community (MLC) to cater for students in the adolescent years between Years 5-8. The MLC is specifically designed to provide a unique kind of school environment and curriculum with student learning focused on the educational, personal and social needs of this age group.

The College restructure will address the continued strong growth of student enrolments and a willingness to create the flexible and engaging environment needed to drive future-focused learning across the College. The MLC will enable a dedicated learning community to compliment the Junior and Senior Learning Communities, enabling a smaller, intimate and specific learning community in; Early (aged 3-5) Junior (P-4), Middle (5-8) and Senior (9-12). This reflects the 'small school' philosophy that underpins the history of Hillcrest, as we believe that students who feel secure, valued and comfortable in their environment can achieve their full potential.

The Middle Learning Community (MLC) will focus on developing future-focused learners that understand the power of embracing and sharing God's love. This community will value relationships and wellbeing while searching for Excellence in Christ in all that we do. The performance drivers of Leadership, Learning and Alignment will focus the student journey through the four domains outlined below as we support personal interests and continue to build strengths of the whole child.

As part of the restructure, we are seeking to appoint a Head of Learning and Alignment – Global who will support the Deputy Head of Middle Learning Community - Alignment to drive a professional improvement agenda and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.

In committing to support this improvement agenda, the role will have a key focus on the following Innovation, 21St Century Learning (SECRET Skills framework), Real World Learning, This is a full-time, permanent position to commence at the start of Term 1, 2021. As a leader in College life, the Head of Learning & Alignment – Global will act with the utmost integrity and humility, reflecting their Christian faith and submission to the Lordship of Christ in all they do.
