Head of IT Halcyon Knights Pty Ltd location Sydney.
My client has a fantastic and well loved brand that is looking for a Head of IT to boost their capability, not only in the current climate but to propel them even further forwards.
Your new role Head of IT ability to oversee all technology operations (e.g. software, infrastructure, security) and continuously evaluate them according to meeting VPQM business goals, technical capability/ standards and best practice, incl. Monitoring changes or advancements in technology to discover ways the company can gain competitive advantage.
Adopt an leading-edge solution approach to reduce reliance of deep-technical expertise within VPQM. Analyse the costs, added-value and risks (incl. security) of information technology to advise management and suggest actions. Devise and establish IT compliance requirements (policies & procedures), systems and ensure BCP/ DR plans are in place to support the implementation of strategies set by upper management, incl. Running regular checks on network and data security.
Conducting regular system audits. Overseeing and determining timeframes for major IT projects including system updates, upgrades, migrations and outages. Liaise with business and functional teams to develop impact assessments for functional requirement specifications that relate to reports, interfaces, conversions and extensions. IT/ Ability to evaluate efficient and cost-effective technological equipment (software and hardware)
Increase the functional use of the technological equipment/ software to continuously grow the functionality and efficiency of the business processes. Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and report to upper management. Coordinate with external IT teams and supervise external support desk, specialists, technicians and other professionals to ensure that VPQM’s objectives are met. Manage and control IT budget and report on expenditure.
Build long-lasting relationships with new and existing technology providers while creating cost-efficient contracts Technology equipment educated to Technology Degree level or equivalent (not essential if highly experienced). Technology background (preferably as an IT manager, Solution Architect or Enterprise Architect) with SaaS and On-premise solution understanding.
Strong understanding of all areas of IT and technology, incl. hardware, software, security, IT support, infrastructure, new technologies, application integration/ consolidation across front and back end-technologies. Understand agile-based software development methodologies/ standards/ patterns.
Entrepreneurial mindset, can do attitude, innovative and dynamic, familiar and experience with leading-edge technologies/ frameworks. Demonstrable experience working as an IT manager or Solution/ Enterprise Architect delivering robust, performant and high-quality solutions to time/ budget. Background in designing/ developing IT systems, planning IT implementation and understanding of complexities of business integrations and dealing with internal/ external stakeholders,.
A strong strategic and business mindset with understanding and ability to translate the current and future solutions into a "big picture" view. Willingness to accept and adapt ideas from various sources, and acknowledging that technology should support innovative change (not drive innovative change).
Ability to takes on many different IT roles over a growing business maturity. Confident communicator - able to present complex technical issues in a clear manner to technical and non-technical audiences. Solid understanding of data analysis, budgeting and business operations. Salary package and benefits A package of up to 160k + Super.
