Head of IT JIVARO recruitment location Melbourne. Salary $220-250k + super + bonus.

Our client is looking to appoint a commercially minded Head of IT to play a significant role in transforming their business by developing and driving a comprehensive IT improvement programme. This role will manage a dedicated team to support both the head office and stores functions. You will bring fresh new ideas to the strategy of the department whilst having the ability to be hands-on when necessary.

This role is perfect for someone with a background in retail who has a history of driving transformation across a retail store network, D.C and Head office IT framework. You will make sound business decisions in a complex and challenging retail environment and you will be comfortable presenting to executive stakeholders as well as technical teams.

The focus for the first 6-12 months should be on driving transformation and formalising the IT function. As this company is going through lots of strategic change and can only achieve their goals if the right systems are in place.  This role will therefore play a pivotal role in the company's strategic plans and will have high visibility within the business forming part of the senior leadership team.

To be successful in this role you will be operating at a Head of IT level or above within the retail space implementation and delivery of an IT strategy aligned with the overall strategy. Act as a technology evangelist and innovator - bringing ideas to the mix and running a collaborative process to determine which technologies should be implemented and how.

Internal relationship management with relevant business units and in particular with the Operations and Digital departments. Maintaining the delivery of IT services to end users with a strong focus on customer service.

Management of the Service Desk, Software Development and Infrastructure Teams. Managing the Business Relationship Managers to identify and evaluate possible solutions. Building trust and demonstrating value to the business, giving strategic advice and recommending solutions / improvements.

Skills required leading and developing a team in IT within a retailer. Experience developing and delivering the IT strategy. Experience managing transformational change within a retailer of a similar size. Managing successful end to end technology projects.

Excellent people, communication and relationship building skills. Strong business understanding and commercial acumen. Experience in a senior role focused on solving business issues through technology solutions.

Any previous experience as an IT Business Partner or Business Relationship Manager would be well regarded. Proven track record of strategy development and delivery aligned to overall company objectives. Proven track record of strong team leadership, staff career development and organizational-wide leadership.
