Due to this strategy a new role has been created for a Group Finance Manager. About the role reporting to an extremely high performing and influential Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this Group Finance Manager will support the delivery of major finance objectives as the organisation aims to continue its growth journey. The Group Finance Manager will act as a true partner and 2IC to the CFO and Executive Leadership Team to provide ongoing strategic support, change management, transformation and efficiency improvements. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for leading and driving new improvements across finance, reporting, systems and best in class processes. This is a critical role to assist in driving the business through its continuous growth phase whilst implementing best practice governance throughout the finance function. The key success factor will be your ability to business partner and lead a team through the development of performance targets and delivery of business results. In this highly autonomous and empowering role you will act as the “in-house” advisor on all financial matters. The ability to communicate effectively with non-finance minded people is going to be crucial for the success of this role. You will act as the “confidant” and “right hand person” to the CFO and will be positioned as the successor of the CFO role in future years. Key responsibilities reporting to the CFO and working in partnership with the senior leadership team, your key responsibilities will include leading a medium sized finance team ensuring engagement levels are high and actively supporting individual professional development, managing month end & year end consolidated financial reporting efficiently and effectively, balance sheet & cash flow management in particular identifying working capital issues ahead of time, regional / divisional / entity and other levels of reporting and analysis, provide insights into the business and ultimately drive improvements in business performance, manufacturing and recovery variance analysis leading to insights into business performance and an accurate cost of manufactured products, proactively working with the business units to drive the implementation of robust and efficient systems, effective communication with non-finance minded operational staff, this is crucial in your ability to support the business and successfully drive change, managing the budget and re-forecast process for all divisions, ensuring accounting methodologies used in all businesses are in line with aasb accounting standards, managing all tax compliance issues (fbt, gst, income tax, payroll tax etc.), overseeing outsourced payroll function, ensuring appropriate cost control across the business, effective establishment of governance and control framework including the identification and management of risks, working with external auditors in conjunction with the cfo for financial audits. Skills and experience you are CA/CPA qualified with a strong passion for business and financial management. Beyond a high performance and outstanding career profile, you have a burning desire for supporting growth through effective business partnering and commercial decision support. You will bring to the role strong knowledge of AASB standards, local tax compliance requirements, inventory control and management, cash flow forecasting and management, robust governance frameworks and cost control. You ideally have experience in manufacturing/retail/distribution businesses and service-based organisations. You will possess an inspirational and nurturing leadership style with the ability to engage and inspire your people. You consider business partnering a key strength and have the ability to work with senior stakeholders and the executive leadership team. You will have a track record of adding value through an absolute understanding of key business drivers, the capacity to generate insights; and the ability to communicate effectively to drive change. You will bring experience implementing new systems, processes and technology to drive efficiencies through the business.
