Grants Specialist Heart Kids NZ location Auckland.

Heart Kids is Aotearoa's only national charity that provides practical and emotional support to kids, teens and adults living with a childhood heart condition and their whānau. Services include information, education, training, psycho-social support, specialist medical equipment, camps, family matching and more.

We are currently seeking an experienced Grants & Trust specialist to lead the Trust and Foundation fundraising component, within our Engagement portfolio. The position suits someone who is self-motivated and agile, and experienced in managing Trust & Grants applications in Aotearoa. This is a part time role (25 hours per week), and you will work from home.

Key responsibilities responsible for strategic national and regional grants management, from applications to accountability. Manage a calendar for Trust and Grants applications and ensure applications and accountabilities are produced and submitted to deadline. Maintain close relationships with Trusts and Foundations to keep them informed of the difference they are making.

Monitor opportunities and changes within Trusts and Foundations offerings with a view to growing income. Relationship management of philanthropic organisations (ie: private family trusts). Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records using our fundraising database, and in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020.

We are looking for a proven track record of successful fundraising through Trusts and Foundations with experience of grant applications and writing accountabilities. Effective forward planner with an understanding of the process for identifying new Trust and Foundation grant opportunities. Excellent verbal and written skills.

Competent in use of database and other programmes. Previous experience in Raisers Edge and Fluxx an advantage. Ability to engage with supporters, offering an exceptional customer service ethic. Ability to work within policy and guidelines, especially around confidentiality and privacy. Ability to work autonomously with diligence and integrity.
