General Manager Parengarenga Incorporation ACP Human Resources Solutions location Northland.

The Incorporation's property stretches from coast to coast, so it is never far to a beach. Kaitaia is 45 minutes away.

If this sounds like you, then please read on. Parengarenga Incorporation is a Maori Incorporation based in Te Kao that manages $60m of farm and forestry assets on behalf of 3000 shareholders. The Incorporation's vision is "Growing our people and communities, shaping the Te Hiku future through a world-class, sustainable enterprise of the land and sea".

Farming and forestry is currently the main focus of the business. The farm is 5,100 effective hectares of rolling pasture, 37,000 stock units of premium Angus, Charolais, Hereford cross and an early lambing Texel /Dorsett flock.  The forest covers 10,000 hectares. The farm is well established.  Operational activities are currently under review to improve efficiencies and returns.

Production thinning is taking place within the forest with trees nearing maturity. The second clear fell harvest will start in 2 – 3 years. Developing a strategy and identifying commercial opportunities to maximize forestry returns will be one of the immediate challenges you will face if you are successful in being appointed to this job.

Over the last few years a number of operators have recognised the benefits of the Far North's unique climate and have successfully expanded into horticulture. Identifying opportunities and expanding into horticulture will be an exciting challenge for our new General Manager.

Reporting to the Incorporation's Committee of Management, the General Manager's role includes providing organisational leadership and management. Growing a high performance culture and accountability. Ensuring robust strategic/operational planning and financial management. Capturing new business opportunities. Fostering shareholder and stakeholder relations and Enhancing organisational culture in alignment with tikanga.

The General Manager's skills and experience will include previous experience in a senior executive role – preferably at CEO or GM level in a Maori organization. Previous experience in the primary industry sector. Outstanding skills in strategic and financial planning and management.

Strong commercial skills and experience with a proven track record of commercial achievement – preferably exceeding targets. Outstanding leadership skills with a collaborative/consultative approach when dealing with key stakeholders. Familiarity with Te Reo would be an advantage and the ability to align core leadership, commercial and finance activities with the Incorporation's values and tikanga.
