General Manager Energy and Water Ombudsman location Melbourne.

We are looking for someone with strong leadership experience in finance and business operations to join our extraordinary and passionate executive team at EWOV.

Your new role and team as part of the Senior Leadership Team, the GM Finance and Operations will report directly to the Ombudsman, setting the strategy to deliver a forward-thinking financial plan, in line with EWOV’s strategic priorities. You will use your extensive experience in finance and business operations to lead and inspire your team, driving transformative changes across the organisation.

The Finance team is responsible for the effective delivery of the strategic and operational management of EWOV’s financial services and processes. The team drives the annual budgeting and reporting, board reporting, preparation of financial statements, payroll processing, and accounts receivable.

This role is also responsible for ensuring EWOVs operational effectiveness including our facilities, procurement and office space. This position offers full-time hours, with potential consideration for part-time arrangement for the right candidate.

What you’ll bring to help you succeed in this role you’ll need to bring Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. Professional certification, such as CPA or CMA, is preferred. At least 8 years of experience in finance and operations, with a focus on financial management and business operations.

Experience leading finance teams in small, not for profit environments or member-based organisations will be highly regarded. Ability to flex between strategy and operational delivery, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent knowledge of financial regulations and best practices.

Proficient in financial modelling and analysis. Advanced proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel. Experience managing procurement and facilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

Proven track record of successfully driving and implementing strategic initiatives, delivering measurable results. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, while maintaining attention to detail and meeting tight deadlines.

Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve strategic objectives. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
