About the Role:
We’re looking for a proactive and community-minded gardener to help care for both the shared and individual gardens at our village.
In this hands-on role, you’ll work closely with the Village Manager to ensure our grounds are vibrant, safe, and well-maintained. From landscaping and planting to general upkeep and equipment care, you’ll play a key role in making our village feel like home.

Key Responsibilities:
Providing high quality grounds and gardens maintenance including, but not limited to general gardening, weed control, pruning, mowing, edging, blowing.
Planting and nurturing flowers, shrubs, and trees to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the grounds.
Conducting regular inspections of the gardens and grounds to identify and address any issues
Monitoring and maintaining irrigation systems to ensure efficient water usage
Applying fertilizers and pesticides safely and effectively to promote healthy plant growth.
Maintaining garden tools and equipment in good working condition.
Collaborating with the maintenance team to ensure the overall upkeep of the village.
Interacting with residents to understand their preferences and incorporate their feedback into garden designs.
Ensure tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and effectively by adhering to our policies and procedures.
Make informed decisions regarding costs, priorities, and detailed work plans.
Engage in workplace consultation and safety activities.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience in garden maintenance within a retirement village or aged care setting is highly regarded.
Horticulture training and or experience is highly regarded.
A current NSW driver’s license.
Reliability and a strong work ethic.
Alignment with Anglicare’s vision, mission, and values.
A genuine passion for assisting elderly people.
