As our Fundraising Specialist, you will experience the satisfaction that comes from making a tangible difference in the lives of committed, passionate students across Aotearoa.

This role is new to the organsation, and is a rare opportunity to create something special, as you work closely with the Partnerships Manager and Chief Executive to implement SJS’s fundraising strategy from the ground up.

Your innovative approach and fundraising expertise – particularly in grant applications and individual giving – will see you securing new funding streams that drive our charitable mission forward. Our small team is office-based and bursting with expertise to collaborate with and support your success.

About the role overall responsibility for all fundraising initiatives and activities. Lead through influence as you champion a fundraising ethos that becomes embedded across all aspects of our work and decision-making. Design a meaningful and engaging donor journey, that encourages lasting relationships.

Create persuasive grant applications, drawing on data, insights and compelling stories. Develop and foster trusted relationships with a range of foundations, trusts, government bodies and the philanthropic community. Optimise the database through accurate, thorough record keeping and data insights, ensuring compliance with privacy and data protection regulations.

About you proven success in securing significant funding, with particular expertise in individual giving and grant applications. Outstanding communicator with the ability to influence others and build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

You have positive energy, love to innovate and bring fresh ideas to the table. Strategic thinker with the ability to manage multiple funding streams and fluctuating priorities. Knowledge of Aotearoa’s youth, employment or tertiary sectors would be a plus – passion for our mission and values is vital.
