About the role Waitematā North Police are looking for a motivated and dynamic problem solver to fill a full-time Station Support Officer role based at Orewa Police station. Frontline Station Support Officers are an integral part of the police team and provide administrative and logistical support to frontline police officers. Responsibilities include attendance to the public counter, exhibit management, station and administration support.

Every day you will be dealing with challenging situations which will need to be approached with professionalism, respect and empathy as well as ensuring enquiries from members of the public are understood and handled appropriately. The role has a significant effect on public trust and confidence in police and requires someone with excellent customer focus, attention to detail, a can-do attitude and a genuine desire to help people.

As a Frontline Station Support Officer you will need to respond and adapt quickly in order to support the operational and administration demands of Police. There is scope to move between various Frontline Station Support Officer responsibilities including Public Counter attendance, Police Property and Exhibit Office and Area Station Support Office.

Key accountabilities the ability to deal with challenging individuals in a customer services environment. A sound knowledge of computer applications, in particular NIA and Microsoft suites is desirable. Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to work hard in a team environment. Prioritise workflow. Manage time effectively to complete multiple files and meet deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to Problem-solve, work under pressure, and manage competing demands.
