About the role Waitematā East Police are looking for a motivated, and dynamic problem solver to fill a full-time Station Support Officer role based at the North Shore Policing Centre. Station Support Officers are an integral part of the police team and your role will be to provide administrative support to frontline police officers, exhibit management, data entry, the use of police computer systems and providing quality customer service at the station public counter.

The role of Station Support Officer is to provide customer service for our Front Counter based at the North Shore Policing Centre. Every day you will be dealing with challenging situations which will need to be approached with professionalism, respect, empathy and in a positive manner. You will be welcoming customers into the station and ensuring their enquiries are understood and handled appropriately.

The role has a massive effect on public trust and confidence in police and requires someone with excellent customer focus, be part of a high performing team, attention to detail with a can-do attitude. The role of a Station Support Officer provides operational and administrational support to Police which includes but is not limited to, front counter customer service, data entry, use of Police systems, typing, and file management. There is also scope to relieve in other roles within the Area.

Key accountabilities the ability to deal with challenging individuals in a customer services environment. A sound knowledge of computer applications, in particular NIA and Microsoft suites is desirable. Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to work hard in a team environment. Prioritise workflow. Manage time effectively to complete multiple files and meet deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to Problem-solve, work under pressure, and manage competing demands.
