Foreman CB Civil and Drainage Ltd location Bay of Plenty. $40 – $45 per hour.

About The role we are looking for a skilled and experienced Drainlayer to join our team and lead the installation of drainage systems across various projects. As a Drainlayer, you will be responsible for planning, inspecting, and ensuring the quality of drainage work, including laying, repairing, and connecting drains.

This involves subsoil and deep drainage installation, trenching, excavation, and other manual tasks using both plant equipment and hand tools. You will supervise drainage projects, train crew members, and collaborate with site engineers and supervisors to ensure efficient and safe project completion.

Key Responsibilities lead and supervise drainage system installations, including pipes, subsoil drainage, and manholes, ensuring accurate alignment and secure connections. Perform trench excavation, service potholing, and pipeline laying, managing water flow and trench stability.

Train and support team members, ensuring adherence to high safety and quality standards. Oversee daily operations, optimize team efficiency, and maintain accurate records of time sheets and material usage. Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, environmental standards, and company policies.

Key Requirements7-10 years of construction experience. Registered Drainlayer with the ability to gain Certification under the Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers Board (PGDB). Strong knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and health & safety best practices.

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs). Leadership and organizational skills to manage and delegate tasks to a small team. Basic numeracy skills (NCEA Level 2 Maths or equivalent) for daily calculations.
