Job Description
Our Role
As Fleet Maintenance Manager you will organise and supervise maintenance activities to ensure work done meets required quality standards including cost management, crewing and compliance and company and legislative requirements pertinent to the operation and the Ships. Additionally, you will facilitate in-depth troubleshooting to help the Engineering crew and contractors to resolve issues, providing advice on ship and system maintenance.
There is a requirement to work flexible hours due to operational requirements, and periodically attend to matters on the ships.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Development of maintenance plans in collaboration with the Fleet Operations Manager.
• Support diagnosis of defects and troubleshoot maintenance discrepancies in a timely manner.
• In conjunction with the Fleet Operations Manager ensure certificates and regulatory requirements are recorded, current and enforced.
• Coordination of maintenance activities in port, refit projects and surveys.
• Review and develop preferred contractors for key operational ports.
• Work collaboratively with the People & Culture team for recruitment, performance rostering and training of the Engineering crew, as required.
Desired Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will possess:
• A degree/qualification in Mechanical/Maritime Engineering.
• Minimum 3-5 years marine maintenance management and 10 years maintenance experience.
• Experience with SMS & ISM.
• Project management experience is desirable.
• Demonstrated problem solving skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
