Financial Services Assistant January Group Limited location Auckland.

Our client is food distributor with a number of operating businesses nationally. They serve the needs of vulnerable New Zealanders and are scaling up to meet an increasing demand. They are seeking an experienced finance professional to enhance financial processes and to support the growth of these businesses.

Reporting to the CEO, the Financial Services assistant will be responsible for all financial transactions including accounts payable, funding transactions, and payroll.  They will also develop financial and management reporting frameworks and prepare this information for branch managers, the CEO and Board.

Candidates will have a tertiary qualification in accounting and will have worked in a financial accounting role. This is a part-time role (approx. 30 hours per week) with some flexibility to work from home as well as in the office. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate technical knowledge but also be a self-starter who understands the importance of robust financial management and the role financial reporting has in decision-making.

Candidates should have the following attributes Financial and management accounting experience in a product based business. A passion for developing systems and processes. Well-organised and disciplined. An in-depth understanding of Xero. Intermediate – advanced spreadsheet skills. Excellent communication skills – written and verbal. Relevant tertiary qualification in accounting.
