MARS Recruitment is excited to announce a partnership with a renowned property investment company boasting a substantial portfolio across Australia. They are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Financial Controller to join their high performing team.

In this role, you will be entrusted with overseeing the financial accounting function and managing the financial reporting of the company's investment funds. Your responsibilities will include optimising financial operations, driving strategic decision-making, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities prepare complex budgets and forecasts in a timely manner. Manage team deliverables regarding financial and statutory reporting. Deliver annual financial reports, management reports, and board reports. Oversee day-to-day financial operations. Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships, and optimise working capital management.

Monitor and analyse financial performance against budgets and forecasts, providing insightful recommendations to drive performance. Develop financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure best practices. Supervise and mentor the finance team, ensuring they have the necessary resources and training to effectively perform their roles.

Take a proactive and hands-on approach to resolving finance matters that arise within the team and across the business. Identify opportunities to improve existing processes and implement new ones, acting as a key influencer.

Criteria 10+ years of experience in accounting and finance. 5+ years of experience within property or financial services sector. CA/CPA/ACCA qualification. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting standards. Proven track record in managing large budgets and complex processes and transactions.

Advanced report writing skills. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
