The company robert Half are exclusively recruiting a Financial Controller for a Sydney-based, Australian owned and national innovator known for its disruption in a growing sector.

Located in South Sydney, this organisation is admired for its inclusive culture, diverse workforce, and career opportunities. With expanding operations, they offer an exciting role for an experienced senior finance professional.

The role the Financial Controller is a core member of the leadership team reporting to the Chief Financial Officer.

With significant experience in a Senior Finance Manager or Financial Controller capacity essential, the primary roles and responsibilities will include manage and mentor a small team of finance professionals, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment.

Oversee the preparation and delivery of timely and accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with local accounting standards, IFRS, and other relevant guidelines. Ensure compliance with all statutory reporting obligations, including annual and interim financial reporting, and liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies.

Safeguard the company's financial assets and mitigate potential financial risks. Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements and maintain a strong control environment. Oversee cash flow, liquidity, and working capital management for the business. Managing the governance and reporting process to fulfil statutory obligations.

Your profile you are a passionate, CA qualified (required), finance subject matter expert, with excellent technical financial accounting skills and knowledge. Ideally you will bring experience across industries such as property, services or similar.

With experience gained working alongside a Head of Finance, CFO or Divisional CFO, you will act as a subject matter expert and be able to bring strong analytical and problem-solving skills to this successful business as it continues to scale.

You have well developed team leadership skills, with a proven ability to mentor and grow your team, delivering career pathways for your team within the business and enshrining a collaborative and aspirational culture where individuals are motivated to work together for shared goals, and where individual career goals are achieved along the way.

You are a pragmatic self-starter who is comfortable and able to get into the detail when necessary without relying on others to achieve outcomes. You are a constructive influencer, winning the support and respect of colleagues and stakeholders.
